Treatment Programs at TSL Rehab
Recovery programs engineered for the realities young adults face in Wilmington — real-world skills, peer connection, and clinical depth.
Medical Detox
For many young adults, the physical hold of substances like fentanyl, opioids, or alcohol can feel impossible to break alone. Our medical detox program at TSL Rehab provides 24/7 physician-supervised withdrawal management with medication-assisted treatment (MAT) when clinically appropriate. Our 154-member care team monitors vitals, manages discomfort, and keeps you safe through every stage of detoxification.
Detox typically lasts 3 to 7 days depending on the substance and your individual health profile. During this time, our clinicians begin preliminary assessments so your transition into residential or outpatient care is seamless. You are never just waiting around -- psychoeducation sessions introduce the science behind addiction, giving you a foundation before formal programming begins.
Residential Treatment
Our residential program is built around the reality that young adults in their late teens and twenties face pressures that older generations did not encounter at the same age -- social media, academic burnout, and a fentanyl-saturated drug supply. Across our 71-bed Wilmington campus, you live in a structured environment where every hour has purpose, from morning psychoeducation lectures to afternoon group therapy and evening mindfulness practice.
Programs run 30 to 90 days and incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, EMDR, 12-Step Facilitation, and Somatic Experiencing. You work through guided workbook exercises that build real skills -- not just abstract coping concepts. Family sessions happen weekly because recovery does not exist in a vacuum. Our goal is to send you home with an identity that no longer revolves around substance use.
Outpatient Program
Not everyone needs or can commit to full-time residential care. Our outpatient program lets you continue working, attending school, or managing responsibilities in Wilmington while receiving structured treatment multiple days per week. Partial hospitalization (PHP) runs five days a week with six hours of daily programming, while intensive outpatient (IOP) meets three evenings weekly.
Both tracks use the same evidence-based modalities as our residential program -- CBT, group therapy, individual counseling, and Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention. For young adults stepping down from residential care, outpatient provides the bridge between 24/7 support and fully independent living. Sessions include addiction science workshops and workbook exercises that reinforce what you learned during earlier treatment stages.
Dual Diagnosis
Over 7 years of treating young adults in Wilmington, our clinical team has observed that the vast majority arrive with an undiagnosed or undertreated mental health condition fueling their substance use. Depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and bipolar disorder do not disappear when drugs leave the body -- they often intensify. That is why TSL Rehab treats both conditions simultaneously rather than sequentially.
Our dual diagnosis track pairs licensed psychiatrists with addiction counselors so your medication management and therapy stay coordinated under one roof. EMDR addresses trauma, Somatic Experiencing reconnects you with your body, and Music Therapy offers a creative outlet when words fall short. With 5,500+ individuals served, we have seen repeatedly that treating the whole person -- not just the addiction -- is what makes recovery last.
